Indigenous Australians are more like to develop respiratory conditions, heart disease and chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension than non-indigenous Australians.
There is a health gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Therefore, there is a government initiative called closing the gap (CTG) which is aimed at reducing or closing this gap. Indigenous Australians have access to CTG at the medical centre. Please ask about this and discuss it if it applies to you.
ATSI health check can also be conducted for the Indigenous people to assist with their health care.
The Spring Medical Group is open to all Australians including Indigenous Australians, as the doctors here have training and experience with Indigenous Health.
